Price After Discount: Savings = Original Price × (Discount % ÷ 100); Final Price = (Original Price − Savings) × (1 + Tax % ÷ 100). With the default $80 original price at 25% off, Savings = $80 × (25 ÷ 100) = $20, so the price before tax is $80 − $20 = $60. Add an 8% sales tax on top and this discount calculator shows a final price after discount of $60 × (1 + 8 ÷ 100) = $64.80, since tax is applied to the discounted price, not the original one. Find Discount %: Discount % = ((Original Price − Sale Price) ÷ Original Price) × 100. With the default $50 original price and $35 sale price, that's (($50 − $35) ÷ $50) × 100 = (15 ÷ 50) × 100 = 30% — a fast way to find discount rate on any advertised sale price calculator claim. Stacked Discounts: Final Price = Original Price × (1 − d1) × (1 − d2) × …, multiplying the remaining fractions rather than adding percentages.
